Netflix has a critical edge over cinemas: people watching it tend to also play on their phones at the same time. It’s quite rare that I watch a Netflix flick fully focused. That allows them to push lesser quality: as long as it has a cultural/pop appeal and the story can be understood easily, it’s OK.
