The old American dream is a lie; it’s time for a new one. The idea that any American could be a billionaire one day has been carved so deep in the country’s collective mind that people will forego short-term, real-life benefits in the hope that, when they eventually make it, they’ll pay a few tax dollars less (see image below).

A society that allows for billionaires to exist isn’t full of opportunities. It is dysfunctional in nature. Such wealth disparity shouldn’t be praised, it should be avoided.

Billionaires are not a desirable feature; they’re a symptom.
